About Us

David began his studies at Plymouth University where he obtained his Part 1 Degree in Architecture. He completed his training at Oxford Brookes University and spent one semester at the Washington-Alexandria School of Architecture in the USA. David added a master’s degree in Urban Design to his training and qualified as a Chartered Architect in 2004.

David is an accomplished and experienced architect and has built a reputation for delivering coordinated production information for large residential developments and working closely with blue chip national house builders. He enjoys seeing projects through from inception to completion on site and collaborating with master craftsmen on substantial private residences. He has a wealth of experience working with private domestic clients from new builds to bespoke property extensions. His core philosophy is to put the needs of the client first.

Lucy completed her undergraduate and post-graduate education at the University of Brighton, where she was awarded the Bernard Hegarty prize for technical research and imaginative design. She completed her training at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London and qualified as a Chartered Architect in 2014.

Lucy has experience in residential developments, running high-quality projects from inception to completion and is comfortable with both Traditional and Design and Build Contracts. She enjoys designing planning schemes and is enthusiastic about working collaboratively with clients, contractors and sub-contractors to ensure design quality and co-ordination is achieved through all stages of the project.

After 12 years of living and working in London, Lucy relocated to Reading with her family. David and Lucy are both passionate about exceeding their client’s expectations, and their complimentary skill set made the decision to work together an easy one. Holtham+Newman Architects was founded in 2021.
